Crossakiel Juvenile club championships gets underway

Baugh tipped to win historic Crossakiel Juvenile Club championships final for 2011

The eagerly awaited and historic Crossakiel Juvenile championships takes place in the club. The top 8 Juvenile players have entered and it will be an intriguing contest to see who will be confirmed club champion for 2011. On their day any of the 8 players can win out and trying to pick a winner will be difficult. On current form however it will hard to look beyond Gary Reilly & James Baugh. Gary Reilly teams up with Johnny Reilly Jnr this weekend as they take on Dublin’s Corey Fay & Cian O’Dalaigh in the Leinster U-17 doubles final while James Baugh takes on Kilkenny’s Dylan Walsh in the U-17 singles final. Johnny Reilly v James Baugh looks like the pick of the quarter final draws. Depending on what develops in Ballymore Eustace on Sunday when both players are in action there could be a shock on the cards with Baugh maybe just edging it. Gary Reilly may have that little bit extra when he takes on Ricky McDermott. Jack Tunney takes on Conor Rice in another q-final which looks sets to go down to the wire with Jack Tunney getting the nod in this one, while in the remaining quarters Cormac Gilsenan is tipped to do just enough to get past Killian McCaffrey. The semi-finals are down for decision on Monday 21st March in the club with the final for the following Monday with an 8 p.m. start. Overall predication James Baugh to beat Gary Reilly but only just.

The Club will soond be organising mini-league games for all the Juveniles currently playing. It will be a league based competition and who knows more talent within the club could be unearthed. It is certain to be an exciting club league competition and good luck to all the Club Juvenile players taking part.
