Crossakiel handball club host All-Ireland club finals this weekend

Castleconnor face Broadford for a place in the All-Ireland club final

Castleconnor ready for Royal rumble in Crossakiel, writes Michael McGee

The All-Ireland club Junior B semi-finals will take place in the Crossakiel club in Meath on Saturday 13th July next. Castleconnor will face Munster club champions Broadford of Limerick  in the All-Ireland semi-final. The Broadford club defeated Friary/Abbeyside of Waterfrod in the Munster final last month. The Crossakiel Club is the home club of present Sligo G.A.A Handball PRO Michael McGee

It will be a tough challenge for the Castleconnor club but with the likes of 17 year old Jason Earlis & Martin Cooney hitting top form in the singles at the right moment anything is possible. Mark Murphy & Tom Foody an ever present & reliable doubles partnership not giving much away the tie could swing  in the Sligo club’s favour

Last weekend Castleconnor defeated Roscommon club Champions Mount Talbot in the Connacht final played in Williamstown. Castleconnor had earlier defeated  Loughrea of Galway in the provincial semi-final

The Castleconnor team to play Broadford will be Jason Earlis, Tom Foody, Mark Murphy, Martin Cooney & Joe Gorman. Broadford will be represented by Denis McCarthy, Dominic Enright, Shane Murphy, Kieran Leahy, Paul Shanahan
